John Robert ”Bob” Younkin, Sr. age 77 of Castalian Springs died suddenly at his home July 1, 2010. Funeral service will be Saturday July 3rd at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home with Brother David Gurchiek and Brother Tim Singleton officiating. Interment will follow in Sumner Memorial Gardens with Keith Brewer, Brenton Younkin, Kevin Brewer, Chris Smith, Billy Joe Blair, Carl Riechman and Eli Allen serving as pallbearers and Isaac Bode serving as honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be Friday July 2nd 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday July 3rd 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Younkin was born in Pittsburg, PA, on February 1, 1933 son of the late William Harrison Younkin and Emma Jane Hiles Younkin. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Margie Jackson Younkin. He was a retired Church of Christ Minister and Tax Accountant. He is survived by two sons; John Younkin, Jr. and wife Vicki of Castalian Springs and Gerald Younkin also of Castalian Springs, three daughters; Linda Brewer and husband Paris of Rickman, TN, Sandra Singleton and husband Tim of Monterey, TN and Amy Bode and husband Joe of Hartsville, one brother David Younkin and wife Conchi of Winterville, GA, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
